BBW Goes From Strength to Strength

BBW is pleased to announce that the first half of 2008 has seen record levels of new clients coming to BBW, despite general concerns about a possible downturn.

Since the beginning of the year we have signed a number of housing associations, a London Borough, a large national solicitors, a national construction firm and a London based teaching hospital as well as continued work from existing clients. 

BBW are currently undertaking work on Wide Area Networks (WAN), maintenance and support tendering, contact centres, name dialers, voicemail systems, telephony infrastructure, reception consoles and many other technologies.

Which VoIP Solution?

The UK VoIP market is dominated by Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, Mitel and Siemens but which offers the best cost/product mix for your organisation? Should you consider the other players in the market -- would they provide a better fit at a lower price?

One of the main advantages of selecting one of the “big five” is their national and international geographic coverage.  However, this comes at a cost and you can often obtain just as many features from a smaller system or a smaller manufacturer, often at a much lower price.

The architecture of different systems can be vastly different which can cause interoperability issues which take time to iron out.  Also, the different designs fit different organisations more closely, for example how important are features such as video, collaboration or resilience.

As always, the most suitable system will come down to each company’s individual requirement and how the system fits your purpose.

Skype - Free Calls for You and You Callers

The VoIP Internet service Skype has become increasingly popular and provides free, high quality, telephone calls to other Skype users. The provision of a Skype gateway to your PBX could allow your customers (who have a broadband connection) to call your staff without either party incurring any cost!

A Skype gateway works by dialing an access code, in the same way as you currently dial an outside line by pressing 9, you could connect to this service from your desk phone by dialing 5 for example.  

With IP based infrastructures in caller’s homes and within the enterprise – why way for telephone calls between the two?

Update Your Policies

Are Facebook and other social networking sites giving your company a bad name?  Facebook for example, lists the individuals’ employers name within social groups that the members of staff join.
